- KonferenzbeitragCONTEX(T)PLORER: A Mobile Inspector for Ubiquitous Environments(Mensch & Computer 2014 - Tagungsband, 2014) Schirmer, Maximilian; Bertel, Sven; Wilkening, Ronja LarsThe complex invisible interactions between components of ubiquitous environments present a challenge for end-users and thereby raise concerns of privacy and nontransparency. In this paper, we introduce CONTEX(T)PLORER, a mobile inspector system that aims at lowering the acceptance barrier of ambient intelligence and ubiquitous computing environments. The inspector actively involves end-users in an in-situ investigation process: users select, explore, and inspect components in a ubiquitous environment while interacting with them. Individual components are used as entry points to the process. We present a brief overview of the system’s concept and implementation, and discuss related work.
- ZeitschriftenartikelStrategy Alignment of Mobile Solutions in Customer-Oriented Processes(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 47, No. 1, 2005) Schierholz, Ragnar; Kolbe, Lutz; Brenner, WalterIn this paper we analyze how companies define their strategy, especially how they interact with and appear to the customer. Based on a framework of five goals in customer oriented strategy, we classify seven cases. Analyzing the strategic premises and the processes chosen to be supported by mobile solutions, we show interdependencies between the strategic premises and the selected processes, resulting in typical properties which qualify processes for mobilization.
- ZeitschriftenartikelTechnische Möglichkeiten und Akzeptanz mobiler Anwendungen(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 47, No. 1, 2005) Hess, Thomas; Figge, Stefan; Hanekop, Heidemarie; Hochstatter, Iris; Rauscher, Barbara; Hogrefe, Dieter; Riedel, André; Zibull, Marco; Kaspar, Christian; Richter, MarkusMobile data communication applications, referred to in this paper as mobile applications, were one of the technological innovation and investment targets in recent years. From the past it became obvious that mono-disciplinary approaches to investigate mobile applications have shortcomings when it comes to successful innovation and investment decisions as interdependencies are insufficiently addressed. The paper therefore aims at structuring the scientific contributions of computer science, business economics and sociology in the context of mobile applications to approximate a holistic understanding comprising technological feasibility, economic opportunities and human needs.
- KonferenzbeitragUser Interaction with Context-aware Recommender Systems on Smartphones(i-com: Vol. 14, No. 1, 2015) Wörndl, Wolfgang; Lamche, BéatriceIn this article we give an overview on selected aspects of user interaction with context-aware recommender systems on smartphones. We discuss these according to the three steps of user interaction with recommender systems using subjective and objective evaluation criteria: 1. Preference elicitation: how input methods on mobile devices can influence the users’ rating behavior, 2. Result delivery and presentation: how results can be adapted to the mobile context, 3. Feedback, critiquing and refinement: how interactive explanation can improve the user experience. The selection of examples is based on several studies we did in different mobile scenarios.
